Finally, my favorite season has arrived!
Don’t get me wrong… I love the summer months, enjoy spring awakening and tolerate the cold weather of winter. But there’s something about the fall that really brings out my true actual persona of a fiery, witchy redhead.
Maybe it’s the copious amounts of hot beverages to drink, or all the bundles of layers and the floppy hats to wear. Or it could be the crisp firewood air I smell during my evening walks or the fact that Halloween is soon approaching…
(or maybe it’s all of the above, plus some!)
For the month of September, I really wanted to theme my content around the season of Autumn! And I asked you, my lovely readers, what sort of content you’d enjoy reading.
But for now, let’s talk about why this season is superior to the rest!
(heh, at least that’s my own personal opinion.)
The Color Palette of Autumn
The style, themes and colors associated with Autumn truly speak to me.
I have recently been drawn to burnt oranges and deep teal blues, with natural wool textures, as my interior design aesthetic. I love the color pairing, and how warm and inviting it makes a room feel. (Plus the amount of candles I use to decorate with could also make a room incredibly warm and inviting.)
I’ve had a Pinterest account for as long as I can remember, and I use it a fair amount to browse and save interior decor inspiration for my home! Below are just a couple of photos from my decor board (also, feel free to check out the rest of my Pinterest boards!)
From cobalt and teal blues, rich reds and burnt oranges, to mossy hunter greens and deep jewel purples – the fall color palette is definitely my favorite one to work with when choosing outfits or styling any room.
Fall fashion is what I live for as well. Just the aesthetic of fall alone, for both decor and fashion, screams cozy vibes.
My favorite outfit would have to be pairing an oversized graphic tee with high waisted pants and a chunky wool cardigan! Or black tights, an adorable flowy fall dress and a cardigan and floppy hat. Plus I adore the leather, fur textures and the bell sleeves, which all seem to be key elements the fall fashion trends.
Let me know in the comments if you’d enjoy a fall witchy outfit blog post this month!
Favorite Fall Activity
Most people would say they enjoy being outdoors during the summer months for beach trips and hiking adventures. Or outside in the winter months for all the winter sports! But me? I enjoy getting outdoors in Autumn. I love my evening walks, bundled up in a scarf and looking at the foliage. I also love the smell of backyard fire pits and feeling the crisp fall air on my face.
It’s the best aesthetic for nature photography as the colors are so vivid and vibrant, yet subtle and pair beautifully together (like mentioned earlier, just more gold stars for the fall.)
These are the months you don’t want to miss out on for any photography opportunities. I mean, just look at these leaves!
Honestly, curling up with a coffee and a book during the mornings, or a cup of tea and a book in the evenings is just what I’m all about. The vibe for the fall is all about leisuring. It’s the time of the year where we were start preparing for the cold months of winter, and go into hibernation (I wish. Who enjoys shoveling snow?!)
This means it’s time to slow down and take care of yourself. It’s about cultivating soothing and calming energy, and letting go of anything that isn’t serving you. It’s all about self care rituals and forming routines that promote warmth and cozy energy. Because I associate the fall mostly with the colors of red & orange, I also associate the fall with fire and warmth. So to me, the season brings out the snuggly side of me. The person who enjoys sitting down, bundled up by a fireplace, and snuggled into the fuzziest blanket I can find.
It’s about being present and peaceful, in the moment. So… with all of that, how could you NOT enjoy the fall season?
