You may read the title and think it’s not exactly “holiday”-inspired, but in my family brunch is a sacred and special event during the holiday season!
For today’s short and sweet blogmas post, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite Christmas traditions that I share with my family. It’s so special to me and I am always grateful we get to share this with one another every year.
I guess you could say that our family has always bonded around food.

I remember always having a big brunch every Christmas morning. It was one of my favorite things about Christmas. We would open our gifts, and then my dad would go out in the kitchen and start preparing the cooked items like breakfast meats and eggs. Then we put out a tray of pastries my mom would pick up the night before like croissants and cream cheese danishes. Once it was all cooked, we would gather around the table and enjoy the delicious meal, as a family.
So I’ve always associated our Christmas morning brunch as a special, sacred thing that we shared together as a family. If you were to ask me what are your Christmas traditions, I would immediately respond with our morning brunch.
Over the years, as we’ve grown up and moved on with our own lives, Christmas morning brunch has still remained our Christmas tradition. We come together as a family every Christmas morning now as adults to have delicious food and some sparkling mimosas, and it makes my heart warm every time.
If you took the time to read this blog post, my heart is full. What are some of your Christmas or holiday meal traditions that you do during this time of year? Let’s continue chatting in the comments below (perhaps with a nice cup of coffee, heh.)
And reader, I want to thank you for reading up to this point in the post. Writing is an outlet I am passionate about, but hardly allow myself to do. My husband and I have been married for close to 3 years now but our daughter is 2 so we don’t have a set tradition just yet

It’s great to hear that your Christmas brunch has become a family tradition over the years. My family always wears the same red socks and we click a picture showing it off. That’s my fun trademark of Christmas celebration. hehe.
